GROWING TOGETHER

An intimate prenatal women’s circle for expecting mothers. With an emphasis on connection and curiosity, this six-week series weaves together the community building of a traditional women’s circle with prenatal yoga practices and perinatal resources and education to leave mothers feeling grounded and supported. Each 90-minute session is split into three parts: women’s circle to foster connection with each other and with the self; yoga elements for supporting the body and mind in pregnancy and preparing for labor and postpartum (including gentle movement, breathwork, and mindfulness practices); and content specific workshop time with local perinatal professionals to introduce resources and experts. Most importantly, this class is a safe space to explore the transformation of pregnancy and motherhood. Suitable for every stage of pregnancy.

what to expect

  • 6 weeks, 90 minute sessions

  • live and in-person classes (not recorded due to the personal nature of the series—if you miss a session, you’ll still receive any handouts from providers and have the option to do a mini-make up for yoga content before or after another session)

  • small group to foster conversation, intimacy, and time for questions

  • a calming atmosphere and safe space to move and explore

  • in-person mini-workshops and Q&A’s with local perinatal experts

  • connection and discussion focusing on empowering mamas to be informed, confident, and calm—as we don’t believe there is a “right” way to birth or to parent, this series supports mamas in doing what feels best and personal for them (i.e. no prescribed or recommended birth plan, location, etc.)

  • exploration of prenatal yoga as a tool for pregnancy, labor, and postpartum, including: slow and gentle asana poses, breathwork, meditation/visualizations; using yoga as comfort measures during labor and postpartum

  • guidance on basic modifications for practicing yoga at home or in non-prenatal specific classes (with a curated list of suggested local classes) to empower mamas to continue their yoga practice after Growing Together is finished

  • weekly emails exploring all things pregnancy and motherhood with links to free and paid resources, local providers, and events

  • freebies from local businesses/providers

  • a Slack group chat for all participants to stay connected, ask questions, and encourage one another

WHAT MAMAS ARE SAYING

  • -Erica

Mark it on your calendar as self-care and relaxation time! When I signed up, I was categorizing it in my mind as another class or hoop to jump through. It ended up being sooo peaceful, calm, and encouraging! I think a lot of that was due to Claire's overall vibe and how she taught the class. It was something I so looked forward to!

  • -Julia

It’s truly a gem of a class, especially in this area of Wisconsin. It was a beautiful opportunity to be able to hold space for other moms and dedicate time for ourselves during what is a crazy busy time for all of us. Pregnancy can sometimes be isolating in this class always made me feel less alone

  • -Portia

It's empowering, grounding and connecting. It caters specifically to pregnant women and their motherhood journeys. It allows a safe space to speak, share, learn with other people going through a similar experience. It connects to community resources. It's amazing and would be great for things like this to continue to grow throughout the community
